South Kaibab’s Newly Restored Windy Ridge Section

Windy Ridge windy ridgewindy ridgeCanyon New Year This Section of the South Kiabab is just over a mile in the canyon.  The trail was restored with all stone infrastructure, known as “rip-rap”.  The trail is built this way to support constant traveling from “packing-stock”( the Mules). The trail was restored By Grand Canyon NPS TRAil CREW, and the help of volunteers from the ACE program.( American Conservation Experience) As a NPS TRail Crew member, I helped to Build five of the “rip-rap” sections, and am proud to say that the trail is surviving the winter very well!! GET OUT AND HIKE THE TRAIL TO SEE THE IMPROVEMENTS FOR YOURSELF
